OUR FAMILY OUR STORY
"TCF Family Legacy Foundation was born from a story I know intimately—because my children and I lived it."
As a single mother, there were several instances when we did not have a home to call our own. We slept on couches, floors, in motels, and even in our car. There were days when food was scarce, and as a mother, I did not know what tomorrow would bring.
I remember looking into my children’s eyes, knowing they trusted me to protect and provide for them—while I quietly carried the crushing weight of not having enough resources or support. I knew the fear of standing at the edge of despair. I also knew quitting was not an option. At the very least, my children needed me to continue fighting and pushing forward.
My faith sustained us during those times, and hope kept us moving. Although it was limited, the help we received along the way reminded me that even in the hardest seasons, we had not been utterly forgotten.
Today, my children are safe, housed, and established. They are college graduates, business owners, spouses, parents, and community leaders. We were not destroyed by what we endured. We built upon every opportunity, every open door, and every helping hand—and now, we are building a legacy together.
TCF Family Legacy Foundation is our testimony turned into service.
We exist so families facing housing insecurity will not have to carry that burden alone. We meet parents and their children with compassion, dignity, practical support, and a clear path forward—because every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to rebuild.
This mission is deeply personal to our family and to our board. We have traveled this road. Now, we are reaching back to help another family find hope, regain stability, and begin building a legacy of their own.
